'Axis: Bold As Love' vinyl LP by The Jimi Hendrix Experience on the Track label. The album was originally released in 1967 and this is an original 1st UK pressing of the album (with black Track labels and gatefold sleeve) in Mono. The catalogue number for the record is Track 612 003.
'Axis: Bold As Love', The Jimi Hendrix Experience's second album, doesn't resonate through rock history the way its gatecrashing predecessor, 'Are You Experienced' did. In places, it almost seems as if Hendrix is cruising, albeit sublimely. Nonetheless, it's a vital album, which represented a much more conscious use of the recording studio's possibilities and contains some of rock's most molten milestones. There's the fluid psychedelia of 'Castles in The Sand', the viciously funky 'Little Miss Lover' and the so-beautiful-it-hurts 'Little Wing'. Hendrix hits real altitude though with 'If Six Was Nine' and the track 'Bold As Love', based around Hendrix's typically far-fetched hankering for the axis of the planet to be tilted, thereby transforming life on Earth. It works up into a head-melting frenzy of distorted guitar, a precursor to the staggeringly expansive leap forward he would take with 1968's epic 'Electric Ladyland'. Hendrix dreamed the impossible and achieved it on his guitar with this seminal album.

In accordance with the Record Collector guide for vinyl gradings, I would grade the cover for the album as being in EX- condition and the record as being in EX condition. The cover has a small amount of creasing to the edges (see picture below) but no splits, tears, writing or sticker marks. There is also a little edge and corner wear to the cover but nothing too serious (in my opinion). The record itself has clean labels and is in fantastic condition but for a handful of very light surface marks which aren't audible. This is a super copy to have if you wish to replace an old copy which is in worse condition. It must also be stressed that I do not grade as Mint unless I know for sure that the record has never been played. All vinyl gradings that I give are strict and very conservative.
