It's finally time for me to part with my vinyl Hendrix collection - I have built this up over a number of years but don't listen to it as much as I should do and as I want to add to other parts of my collection it is best I shift some stuff to enable me to do this in these times of austerity! Check my other Hendrix listings as I have 3 of late 90's Experience Hendrix 180 gram triple LPs, a nice copy of Band of Gypsys with "puppet" cover as well as nice copy of the holy grail - Axis: Bold As Love Track original with insert!
This is a copy of the Jimi Hendrix LP Band of Gypsys (Gipsies on the labels) on the Track Label. This has the original Puppet sleeve featuring Hendrix, Jones, Dylan and Peel on the front cover and Hendrix on the rear cover. The sleeve is VG, there is some wear on the seams but no splits, the spine is solid but a bit flat in places, the text is clear but is missing some ink on the "Gypsys" part, the opening is also very good - the only very minor detraction is a pin-hole in the top left corner (front). The labels are very clean with just a few spindle marks around the hole. The vinyl would grade higher than VG but for a light mark on the B-side that runs across tracks 2 and 3 - although it is not at all audible. Overall the vinyl is bright and shiny with no scratches but a few wispy marks, it plays through with a bit of surface static but not pops or skips. The stampers as shown in the pictures are the first pressing marks of A ? 1 and B = 1.
