Release details Label, Catalog Number: Reprise, MS-2034 Country: US Year: 1971 First press: Yes Description This copy is the very first edition of this album. It has the original "clear square" Reprise catalog sticker used on the initial pressing of this album. After the album gained popularity, they switched to a "white round" Reprise sticker and also added a second orange "Freedom" hype sticker.
This album belonged to the family of a former record dealer and stereo equipment retailer who operated a shop in the late 1960s to early 1970s. It was near an area that is now San Diego State University (see the last photo). His store closed in 1971. The unsold vinyl stock has been properly stored for more than 50 years. The album is completely flat and appears in top condition. All other unsealed records from this lot have had no issues. Nearly all the records from this collection were pressed in Southern California -- pressings from Capital L.A., Columbia Santa Maria, RCA Hollywood, and Monarch Records. **Columbia Santa Maria (Los Angeles) origin is probable based on provenance.**
