Up for auction is a superb 1st UK Track Records pressing of the Jimi Hendrix Experience's third double LP. Electric Ladyland, catalogue numbers 613 008 and 613 009.

This is an original 1st UK track pressing with the proper 1st press Track labels.  First press Track labels are distinguished by the small inverted catalogue number printed above the main lager print catalogue number which 2nd pressings do not have.  It also has the sides set up for record changers with record one having side A and side D while record 2 has side B and side C.  !st pressing labels also do NOT bear the printed "Two Record Set" found on later Track reissue pressings.  Finally, all matrix numbers are A-1/B-1 on all sides and hand written corrections to the catalogue number in the deadwax.  What's more, the vinyl on all four sides is superb in VG++ to NM condition.  All four sides have no distinguishablew markings or scratches and look brand new.  Playing these LPs is fantastic as the surface noise is very minimal and only heard on the run-in grooves and between tracks.  I will emphasize that this noise is very minimal and in no way interfers with the music.  I've heard worse from new vinyl.  I can't imagine nicer vinyl copies of this double LP.  Previous owner(s) have taken wonderful care of this historic set and any collector I am sure will be pleased.  From an aduiophile perspective, many claim the 1st UK Track pressing is the best sounding version of this album. I agree.

The fully laminated Ernest J. Day printed sleeve is in VG+ condition with light edgewear and creasing, light feathering at the sleeve openings and 2 cm split at the bottom opening seam where the record enters.  It is also the more common of two versions of the 1st pressing sleeve with the smaller pictures of Mitch and Noel and white printed text instead of blue.
