Let me start with the business part of my auction: Please only bid when you are serious about purchasing. No bidders with 2 or less feedback. I’m sorry, but I’ve just had some bad experiences. This is a Paypal only auction. All questions about the item or shipping should be asked in advance. No refunds. The shipping prices below are for uninsured non priority shipping. I do not charge extra for handling, these are the prices of the Dutch postal service converted to dollars for a package between 500 grams and 2 kilos. When I ship, I pack well and put my return address on the package, therefore I can not be responsible in the small chance that anything goes wrong during shipping. This auction is for the Electric Ladyland double album by Jimi Hendrix on the original UK Track Records label in stereo. This is a very early pressing, indicated by the upside down cat.-numbers on all labels (see picture). Also the matrix numbers on the vinyl have been adjusted by scratching part of them away and correcting them by hand. So you’ve got:
Matrix number side A: 61300 XX 8 A//1 (X being a scratch)
Matrix number side D: 61300 X 8 B//1
Matrix number side B: 61300 X 9 A X//1
Matrix number side C: 613009 B XXXXXXXX//1
Now the condition of this item does reflect it’s age a bit. The outside (ladies side) of the sleeve is still in good condition. Some wear around the edges, but the lamination is in an overall nice shiny shape showing the ladies in all of their glory. On the inside (the Jimi side) of the gatefold sleeve there is tape residue along the spine. Also there are two small tears above Jimi’s head one of about 1 and one approximately 2 inches, both mended with some see-through tape (see pictures).
The vinyl has it’s superficial and somewhat deeper scratches, but I’ve played all sides, and although there is background noise, there are almost no loud pops and the sound is very good and very strong. Very good pressing on heavy vinyl. I’m fussy about audio and nothing that annoyed me very much even during the quieter parts of the record. The labels have some spindle scratches and there is some damage around the ‘holes’ (again, see pictures).
So, not in mint condition, but still very playable and very enjoyable. Feel free to email me with any questions you still have about this item.
