Description
Electric Ladyland (Polydor, MPX 9955/6). This is the Japanese pressing of the last album the original Jimi Hendrix Experience (Jimi Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell, Noel Redding) recorded. The fidelity on this album is off the charts! This is an excellent example of Jimi Hendrix's post production skills and attention to detail he is not often credited for. The album's artwork is the European (including England) and Asian version featuring 21 naked females lounging and holding various Jimi Hendrix Experience albums. The two record albums are in excellent condition (played very little); the record jacket is in excellent condition and still has the original protective polyurethane import bag, along with the original Japanese sleeve with liner notes (including song lyrics). The cover artwork created quite a stir in England when it hit the record stores in November of 1968, with several record dealers banning it from their shelves. Even with this type of negative publicity and marketing, 35,000 albums were sold in the first four days! Memorable recordings of "Voodoo Chile," "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)," "1983....(A Merman I should Turn to Be)." Although I DO NOT consider myself a collector (just a life-long Hendrix fan), this is a MUST for the Hendrix collector (or fan) that wants the best vinyl recordings have to offer. See my other Hendrix LP's I have listed on eBay.
