Description
This is the original 1968 LP press of Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland that was banned for the expose of nudity. As a result the cover and later editions were altered. On the original press on the left side of the centre hole, the catalogue number is repeated in brackets above the bold silver print in smaller inverted numbers. These end with a capital 'A' or 'B' per side, on both records' labels. This is ONLY found on the first pressing. This makes this edition extremely sought after.
The record has not been played in 20 years and been well-looked after, however, there is some damage to the cover which has been patched up with black tape. The records themselves have some scratches but the quality is still good after 42 years!
This is more of a collectors album and should be seen as so. I love this album but need to sell it. You do see many LPs like this one claiming to be the original press but are in fact the 1970/1 editions. But this one IS as you can tell by the inclusion of Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding (large photos) on the inside sleeve and by the colour of the print (blue rather than white).
This is a genuine original and musically as well as artistically ahead of its time.
