Rare Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland Track Records, UK Blue Ghost Text, Stereo 613008/9. 1968
This is a very good all round copy of this rare and collectable first press vinyl LP by the legendary Jimi Hendrix.
Cover is in good condition for its age with ware on the edging of sleeve, laminate is in pretty good condition overall.
Condition of vinyl and labels are very good. Vinyl has hairline marks, the most noticeable being on side 'D' but does not affect play, please see photos. The vinyl also retains a nice sheen and plays through very well with the odd crackle and pop, no jumps or sticking. The labels are clean but with spindle marks where it has been enjoyed over the years. I really enjoyed listening to this copy when I was playing it to check it, sonically it is very good indeed.
The cover of this LP is infamous for the correction run of erroneous covers with Blue text and the 'Ghosting' text that can be seen on this copy, see images. The cover also features the controversial image (censored by some outlets at the time) of naked ladies on front/back. Made at the same time ('pre-release') as the 'white text' covers. Like the 'pre-release' white text covers, they will have '098' (September 1968) or '108' (October 1968) printed on the inner sleeves but this copy does not come with the original inner sleeves although they are from 1968, one has what looks to be a telephone number on it.
Defect in matrix stamping on this early issue, altered by hand.
