Description
Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland gatefold album on the UK Track label in "excellent" condition (using the "Record Collector grading system )
and the albums themselves are almost mint with almost no visible signs of scratches. I now have no turntable and cannot play so I am relying on a visual description.
The cover was printed by "Ernest J. Day and Co. Ltd London W11
This album was purchased by myself as new and has been lovingly looked after since. I was a great fan of the man and this album was purchased as soon as it was released.
There is every chance that this is a first pressing but is certainly an early pressing as I never waited long to buy a Hendrix album after release.
The matrix numbers stamped on the discs are as follows.........
Side "A"........ 613008 A //1 then some numbers well spaced out looks like a "1" then possibly an 18 (after the 61300 there are 2 letters or numbers that have been obliterated by the mould makers and the number "8" looks hand written. ?
Side "B".......613009 A //1 ( again the moulders have obliterated the "8" of 613008 and hand written a "9" and an "A" after removing the letter "B" ? followed much further on by a "1" then further on a "9"
Side "C"......613009 B // 2 4 2 0 1 1 2
Side "D".......613008 B followed by what looks like a small "triangle" then "2" then further on "420" and "1 2 1" which is well spaced out.
Hope this info is as clear as I can make it.
The albums are in the original polythene covers stamped "made in England"
The cover is in "excellent" condition with almost no marks worth talking about and no laminate lifting on the faces and only the slightest edge marks.
The disc labels are in mint condition with absolutely no wear.
I played this album with loads of care ( no parties !!) and there are absolutely no scratches on the discs. To be honest it was not one of my favourite albums of Hendrix at the time so it was not played a lot. I would grade it as "Excellent" (see grading system)

The item will be very well packed to protect and I would advise insurance and signing for, hence my postal charges but will negotiate delivery after successfull bid but if no insurance etc then buyer will accept the risks that involves

Grading System
In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records, cassettes and CDs. Anyone buying or selling records through the magazine must use our conditions to state what amount of wear and tear the disc, its sleeve and/or contents have been subject to. The seven standard condition categories, and a description of what each one means, are listed below:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
