The amazing almost 50 year old vinyl record is graded as "Near excellent Condition"
no "worrying serious damage " a real keeper!
released on Track UK 1 year before the US and Canada versions !
The "hidden Gem" of the UK Black Track Jimi Hendrix Mono recordings!
Audio excellent archive for under £80 gbp!
the UK VERSION IS WAY DIFFERENT IN AUDIO QUALITY
the `burning of the midnight lamp` in Mono shows up here 5 months before ElectricLady land was released !
Mono versions of these songs on LP that you can't find anywhere IN THE ORIGINAL MIXES.
"The wind Cries Mary" and" Stone Free" also " Stars that Play with Laughing Sams Dice" the uptempo " Highway Chile" B side of " Wind cries Mary" and of course " Hey Joe" which sounds much clearer than the 45rpm version presses
"The Wind Cries Mary" gets stereo image on later compilations its a lot clearer here recorded and mixed in Mono.
the 45 B sides are also here inculding " Highway Chile" great song sometimes played live in London Clubs 67/68. was on B side of the wind cries mary.
are all here from the original files recorded in London 66,67 and some tracks not available in this format in US versions! wow
The original and best Hendrix compilation from the "London Track UK" 67/68 recordings
Paired with the UK Track records "ARE YOU EXPERIENCED" AND "AXIS BOLD AS LOVE" will give you the complete "London" classic "Black Track" label MONO RECORDINGS!
"Made in Great Britain" 1967 and 1968.
The photo of Jimis London Mayfair appartment 67 where some of these songs were written on the bed is not included!
The ever popular Jimi Hendrix smash hits original from 1968 first Mono A1 B1 wow! pressing on the Iconic UK "BLACK" Track Records label ,
Purple Haze, Hey Joe, Stone Free, Foxy Lady, all are here ..... the earliest possible matrixes on this one!
This is now the best and only reliable place to get the original "Mono Mixes" of these 6 great tracks!
1)"The of Wind cry's Mary"
2)"Can you see me"
3) " 51 st Annivesary"
4) "Stars that play with laughing Sams dice"
5)"Hey Joe"
6 " Burning of the midnight lamp"
This was rolled out fast in 1968 following the release of "Are you Experienced" and "Axis Bold as Love" the singles "Wind Cries Mary" " Hey Joe" and "Purple Haze" were not included in the UK versions of the Debut "Are You Experienced" Album so responding to requests... Chas Chandler gave Jimis fans what they wanted!
"Smash Hits" 1968 MONO is a great one to partner "Are You Experienced" in Glorious Mono.
some these tracks were on the US version of "AYE" but with the inferior US high volume pressing quality the "MONO" UK vesrions are creeping up in value
You really get the vibe of 67/68 in swinging London where these were Mono recorded,
Jimi was playing most nights and recording in London whenever he could., this is the legacy... this is exactly how Jimi wanted it to sound.
If you want a vinyl collectable that you can play and enjoy this is for you....
The great running order chose by Jimi and Chaz Chandler for the UK market means never a dull moment, great cover nuff said...
The record Near Excellent A1 B1 Mono
We would grade this as Nr excellent) only some scrapes from removal keep this away from Ex, some sleeve scuffs removal lines and hairlines (this is a 49 year old!)we never use mint on a record of this age. sound amazing in glorious MONO
The first two albums were recorded 67/68 for MONO and the engineers knew what they were doing, later in 68 came the stereo versions which have some clever sound affects and panning but our favourite is the MONO Jimi had his ear in here well and truly and knew what he wanted.
The audio quality is very good, this has not been cleaned a professional clean could help, this is individual so we don't do it! There is a little static in quieter places but not many of those....
This is on A1 B1 matrixes placing it near the start close to the masters. This is the first press, we have not seen earlier versions and the audio on this one is outstanding and really punchy on our Rega 3no skips or jumps and only a little static in some places.
This is a great player and keeper.
The cover
Near EX with some laminate creases and some ring wear to rear from its 48 years (see photos)
its a fairly clean cover (see photo) has light removal soiling on the rear matt white cover 48years or in and out, NO ISSUES.
No rips tears tape writing , there is a record shop label looks like original , `St Peters sports Brixam` , records store. its discreet at bottom rear and does not detract. see photo.
