This auction is for a (2) LP titled Jimi Hendrix Live At The Los Angeles Forum 4-25-70.
This is an original vintage LP from Rubber Dubber Records, private pressing 70-001-01A. This is a four-sided highly collectible live concert recording, pressed in extremely limited quantity. The sonic quality is not very impressive compared to modern standards, but the essence of Jimi’s performance is remarkable.
The title, six dollar price, and Rubber Dubber logo are rubber-stamped on the blank white cardboard gatefold cover. The recording features a very cool "Star Spangled Banner"/"Purple Haze" 11-minute medley, close to eight minutes of "Voodoo Child," and over 77 minutes of "classic" Jimi Hendrix. Side three is titled on the disc label as if "Room Full of Mirrors" is a singular, long jam on the side, but "Hey Baby/New Rising Sun" and "Freedom" are part of the mammoth jam, along with a drum solo. Glimpses of what would become the Cry of Love album are here within this electrifying performance.
The records themselves looks clean and overall in very good shape. However, I’ve NOT tested them for this auction listing, because I no longer have a record player. (It was in good condition when I last played it approximately 20 years ago.)
The cardboard gatefold jacket is in good physical condition, without any damage. However, please note that there is a name hand-written on the bottom of the front, as well as visible “ring wear” dirt/markings on the front & back due to the cardboard cover being white. (See photos.) Oddly/interestingly, the gatefold interior is completely blank, with no imagery or text. This item also includes a heavy plastic protective cover.
This is a unique and rare record to add to the collection of the seasoned or neophyte Jimi Hendrix/Psychodelic/70’s Rock music fan or collector. This is a real artifact from “the day”.
