This auction is for a very good condition Vinyl Album "Hendrix Songbook The Rubber Band" GRT Records-10007; the back of the album talks about: The Rubber Band as the cream of the crop. No other group extant could match the powerful style and imaginative improvisations of Jimi Hendrix and no other orchestra playing today could meet the enormous interpretive demands set by the pace setting Cream. And although there has been much controversy over Hendrix' performance antics, there has never been any controversy with regard to his virtuosity as a guitarist. The Rubber Band was, and is, the brainchild of Michael Lloyd. Its unique musical concept is designed to bring the music of "rock" to an all-encompassing audience - to strength rubber band style at he acceptance of the genre and at the same time, to garner new recognition for the genius that was Cream and is Hendrix. For this album, the group - essentially a string band - added violins celli, viola, oboes, and horns. The addition of a rock organ was more traditional. While savoring the flavor of Hendrix, the Rubber Band makes no attempt to reproduce or imitate Hendrix. For what is neither the purpose nor the reason for this album, nor of their music. It is an attempt to play the music of Jimi Hendrix - to look at that music as an entity alone to be enjoyed and appreciated. Here, the Rubber Band has taken the intricacies of the Hendrix style and laced it liberally with classical undertones. The songs are Purple Haze, The Wind Cries Mary, Fire, Foxey Lady, Manic Depression, All Along the Watch Tower, Little Miss Lover and Rubber Jam.
