Jimmy Buffett - Down To Earth - Debut Album 1970 Barnaby Z30093 1 owner
The album was purchased in Mobile, Alabama in a local record store in late 1970 and has been in my personal collection since purchase. While we hadn't heard of him before, my husband purchased it because he "wanted to support hometown musicians".
The album did see some parties in the early 70s with us being college students in Mobile. I haven't played it in years, but I thought it was time to pass it on to another Jimmy Buffett fan.
I have not tried to clean the album, only dusted it lightly with a microcloth. It has been stored in it's original plain inner sleeve inside it's original album cover. The record does have some defects and one side is better than the other. I would say side 1 is in Very Good condition and side 2 is a Good. Side 1 plays well, but there is some noise between the tracks. Side 2 had a little skip on cut 2 and 5. This could be due to the need for a good cleaning. There are some visible marks on both sides. The labels are in good condition on both sides. The number PAL - 30093 1 is impressed on the inner ring on side 1.
The plain inner sleeve is tanned with age, but completely intact. The cover shows storage and shelf wear on all 3 sides and the upper front corner is slightly bent. All 4 corners are rubbed, but there are no splits on any side of the cover. The spine of the album can be clearly read, but it does show it's age. There is no writing or labels on the album cover or record.
The record will be removed from the album, placed in a protective vinyl sleeve, and secured between two pieces of cardboard to protect both the record and the cover. The entire package will be shipped securely in a record mailer box.
