For almost three years, from 1983 to 1985, I was the studio audience warmup guy for the Solid Gold TV show, which was one of the most popular syndicated shows of the 1980's. Hundreds of stars and soon-to-be stars appeared on the show. "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" is one of the greatest live albums of all time. So when Joe Cocker appeared on the show he was gracious enough to sign my album for me. The inscription (see insert photo) reads "Ellis, God bless, Joe Cocker."

AUTHENTICATION:

The last two photos show me in studio with host Marilyn McCoo and a gag photo of me pretending to be one of Solid Gold Dancers, autographed by each of them.
