Influential and prolific reggae producer, Joe Gibbs employed Lee Perry and then Winston 'Niney' Holness as engineers before forming Mighty Two, a long-term collaboration with engineer Errol Thompson.
The backing for many releases was provided by his studio band The Professionals, whose members included: Albert Valentine Chin, Bobby Ellis, Earl "Chinna" Smith, Eric Lamont, Franklyn "Bubbler" Waul, George Fulwood, Gladstone Anderson, Herman Marquis, Joe Gibbs, Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace, Lloyd Parks, Lowell Dunbar, Ossie Hibbert, Robbie Shakespeare, Ruddy Thomas, Tommy McCook, Uziah "Sticky" Thompson, Vin Gordon, Willie Lindo, Winston Wright.
