Description
Here’s one for the Joe Meek collectors. It’s an original LP by The Outlaws “Dream Of The West” from 1961 on HMV CLP 1489.
It is completely original, and even comes with an original (slightly scroffled) HMV inner sleeve, as well as a nice new plain one.
The outer sleeve is lovely and GLOSSY and clean. The back of the sleeve is slightly less lovely, but is un-marked and un-written-upon.
Pictured on the back (see close-up with filthy finger) is a virtually unrecognizable Chas Hodges aged seventeen!
The disc is a good solid VG+ or better and plays beautifully for eleven of its twelve tracks.
Track one, side one “Dream Of The West” has a tiny needle dig, probably the result of an unfortunate encounter with an auto-changer at some time in the last sixty years.
I have provided two close-up shots of this blemish.
ON MY VERY GOOD GEAR with a good anti-skate pickup arm, the track plays through perfectly well, with only about four audible clicks.
A non-compensated arm/pickup on a cheaper turntable might not cope so well. (Having said that, I also tried it on an old Garrard, and it sailed through with no worries).
I’m trying to be fair to you, because some collectors do worry about clicks etc.
I believe that you can do delicate surgery on similar marks, with a tooth-pick, and the technique works very well. This must be true because I read it on the interweb.
Mr Fuffy, the ferocious one-eyed feral cat who always visits the garden when I photograph stuff for eBay can’t believe it’s Chas Hodges, either. Mr Fuffy didn’t make the needle mark, and he is not for sale.
If you buy more than one record off me, I’ll give you a discount!
I am not a dealer.
I am just an old bloke thinning out his lifetime collection of records before the floor collapses.
I'm selling most of this stuff for much less than I paid for it.
What a great business plan (I don't think)!
The LP in the photograph is the LP you will get.
I have described the item to the best of my ability, and everything looks in splendid condition to me.
Please check the photographs to decide for yourself.
PAYPAL only Please.
NO OVERSEAS bidders please.
And NO OVERSEAS bidders using UK addresses please.
I am a simple soul and want to ensure a fair deal for my buyers. If there is a problem, I like to sort it out personally.
I can't do this if you're thousands of miles away.
