'Joe's Tele' - acrylic on boxed canvas measuring  24 x 48"  /  61 x 122cm  (painted to scale 38.5"  /  98cm).

Joe Strummer's 1966 Fender Telecaster is without a doubt one of the most recognizable guitars in history.  Original sunburst resprayed black with its distinctive "Ignore Alien Orders" sticker, used on all tours and recordings throughout the whole of his musical career.  If musical instruments could talk this one would be screaming "I belonged to the greatest punk rock star of all time and he f***ing played me hard!"


Joe's guitar is with his family now, which for my mind is where it belongs.  This is one piece of music memorabilia that should not end up in in a glass case with hordes of zombie like tourists gorping at it as they shuffle along to the next exhibit, a painting of this legendary guitar is enough for me.  What do you think?  emailme@81art.co.uk


All of my work is hand painted to order with Winsor & Newton Galeria acrylics on Gallery Quality boxed canvases, the edges of the canvas are similarly painted so the finished piece can be hung straight on the wall with no need for framing.

I have spent 3 years perfecting this style and pride myself on the quality of my work.  I am matriculas when it comes to detail and so the majority of my canvases are painted with a brush no more than a few millimetres wide.

Each painting takes around four to five days to complete, with each individual layer being painted two or three times to achieve completely flat colour.

Your bid is a contract - Place a bid only if you're serious about buying the item.  If you are the winning bidder, you will enter into a legally binding contract to purchase the item.  If I am unable to establish contact with the winning bidder within 3 days of the end of the auction or if payment is not received within 5 days, the item may be offered to the next highest bidder or relisted at my sole discretion.
