Joe Valino
(Everything I Touched Turned To) Gold/Out of the Darkness - 45 / 7"
Auctioning one 1959 45 rpm seven inch single by South Philadelphia Pop singer, Joe Valino. Valino had a great rich baritone voice, but only ended up having one chart hit back in 1956 called, "Garden of Eden". Something seriously great happened on this single, though, even if the U.S. public didn't realize it at the time. First, the tune is a really great composition. Valino's voice is perfect. And the arrangement has a relentless Jazzy groove that goes through several modulations and just keeps building. This song really reminds me a lot of what John Barry was doing with the James Bond music in the early 60's. In fact, this song would have made a KILLER theme song for the movie, "Goldfinger"! "Everything I Touched" has been discovered by the Northern Soul/Popcorn crowd, and the original single has become quite collectible. We've grown quite fond of it ourselves!
Disc (black label with silver print-dog on top) is housed in crisp original RCA sleeve. Vinyl is clean, glossy and a solid Near Mint. Disc plays beautifully with only minor surface noise only and clear sound. Check out our audio file, which has NOT been EQ'd.
