One of two GREAT albums that John Martyn recorded with his Folk-Singer wife Beverley
Both released the same year (1970) I am also selling their only other: STORMBRINGER - and
two other prime early John Martyn LPs as well - all in superb collector condition.

ROAD TO RUIN original issue uses a special distressed effect stock for the cover, with slubs and patina spotting effects as part of the background artwork - and right in line with the "Road to Ruin" theme. No 2 covers are precisely the same, as the stock has variations in 'spotting' by its very nature. In Book Design and Production and also in Document Repair jobs, I've worked with this kind of material many times, still it was very hard for me to find the - faint, small - wear spot amongst the other inherent distress effects. (look just to the right of the banner at top. That's the only wear you'll find here, front or back).

Spot color* (Blood Red, Eggshell, Black and flat Gold) inked graphics on the R.J. Day Group, London/Bedford printed cover with old-style 'crimped corner' spine.
*...this means separately plated opaque inks. NO half-tone or 'dot-pattern' from standard commercial 4-color process ink printing.

LP features Danny Thompson, Tony Cox, Dave Pegg, Ray Warleigh and Lyn Dobson among the excellent players assembled for this wonderful album.

Original ISLAND company inner sleeve included.

You would have a very hard time finding a cleaner, more well-preserved original UK issue.

Disc kept in separate ANTI-STATIC inner sleeve to protect both the original inner and the vinyl.
Album kept in a protective, poly outer-sleeve.
