Description

John Coltrane (technically the release is “Eric Dolphy Quintet featuring Blue Train”) [with Dolphy, McCoy Tyner, Reggie Workman, Elvin Jones.] MOUNT MERU VOLUME TWO. Historic Performance HPLP-5.  recorded 1961; released 1972.  Legendary underground edition of this music. Disc is VG+/VG++: Sloppily pressed in the first place, and this one has seen some general wear. Plain white label. Plain white jacket has part of one mimeographed yellow sheet affixed to it, and another loose in the jacket.


Here’s the second of about 50 batches of records from a fastidious NY-area collector with excellent taste. One owner since release in most cases. Very many of these were played either very little or very carefully. They’ve been carefully play-graded as well.  Low starts, as you can see, and almost no reserves. Bid with confidence.
