John Coltrane - Impressions LP
Impulse. A-42. Orange/Black label. Mono. USA 1963.
First press
Thick foldout cover, laminated on outside.
White paper inner sleeve.
Graded cover/record Ex/VG+
A very fine cover has light wear at three corners.
Labels are clean and vinyl is fine.
Side B has one superficial surface hairline and one ultratiny scratch but plays excellent except for two tiny ticks.
A: India* / Up Gainst the Wall /
B: Impressions / After the Rain**
A1 and B1 were recorded live at the Village Vanguard in November 1961,
while tracks A2 and B2 were recorded at Van Gelder Studio, respectively on September 18, 1962 and April 29, 1963.
John Coltrane — soprano and tenor saxophones, Eric Dolphy - bass clarinet*
McCoy Tyner — piano, Reggie Workman/Jim Garrison — bass, Elvin Jones/Roy Hanes** — drums.
