"All of the vinyl edition titles in MCA's reissue campaign of the Impulse catalog in 1986, 1987 uniformly feature the dubious marketing hype in big, orange, all caps on the jackets' rear, "DIGITALLY REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL STEREO MASTER TAPES". Ignore that '80s hype, it's misinformation. Steve Hoffman has repeatedly asserted that this is not true, that the marketing dept. mistakenly copied the text as it appears on the sister CD reissues. SH posted the following in 2009 and 2010, claiming he and fellow mastering engineers mastered for CD from original master tapes, not digital files. AAA. He's praised the results and has recommended these MCA mid to late 1980s CDs, as well as their counterpart vinyl reissues pressed on KM Records' proprietary KC569 blended translucent vinyl"
