Description

Original 1961 UK release, Factory Sample, Not for Sale.
The disc is in excellent condition, no scuffs or scratches and plays perfectly. The sleeve is sound with staining following removal of celotape. Some air bubbles beneath the clear laminate along the front lower edge.
Another Asman`s purchase, see file ref. on the back of the sleeve, 1962/3.
Side One, The John Coltrane Quartet, recorded at United Records, LA. 8 Sept. 1960. This quartet was playing at the Zebra Lounge in LA from Sept, 1 to11. It also performed at the Monterey Jazz Fest. SF. on 24 Sept. One month later, with Elvin Jones replacing Higgins, the iconic albums, My Favorite Things, Coltrane Plays the Blues and Coltrane`s Sound were recorded at Atlantic Studios, NY.
