Description

John Coltrane - Meditations

(HMV Records CLP 3525 UK Mono LP 1966)

This is a UK Mono 1st pressing LP. It has a heavyweight front laminated flipback sleeve. This has a factory "pinched" top & bottom spine. The sleeve is printed by "Garrod & Lofthouse". It comes with its original generic company plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has black & red "HMV" labels. These have "The Gramophone Co..." and "Sold in UK..." texts. There is a company "KT" tax code embossed around the spindle hole on Side 2. The 1st press matrix numbers (& mother stampers) are as follows:

Side 1: A 9110 A-1 (G 1)
Side 2: A 9110 B-1 (A 1)

This is a genuine UK Mono 1st pressing of this excellent mid 1960's Modal Jazz/ Free Jazz LP. These are not that common. I have some other rare & collectable 1960's, early 1970's UK and USA Jazz LP's for sale. This includes several other John Coltrane LP's. So please see my other listings.

Sleeve: There is light, mild or more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is light, mild or more moderate rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges on some areas. This is not too noticeable. There is some mild or very mild fading to the rear sleeve. There is some light, mild or very mild finger-tip staining on the rear sleeve on some areas too. There are about 6 light & small hairline creases at the spine area. There is mild fading to the spine. The spine text is completely legible. There is a very small 1 cm tear on the bottom flipback. There is some mild, very mild or more moderate ringwear on some areas. This is mainly on the front sleeve. Overall, Very Good condition

Vinyl: There are some light, mild, very mild or more moderate sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, which can only be seen under a strong light. There are a few areas of more moderate sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, which, also, can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Very Good condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition & show minimal spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There is a small tear on the rear side. There are no seam splits.

I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall & Near Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. Overall, a very reasonable audio copy!
