Description
John Coltrane - Ole Coltrane
(London/ Atlantic LTZ-K 15239 UK LP 1962)
This is a UK Mono 1st pressing LP. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve. This has a thin spine and has a factory "pinched" top & bottom spine. It comes with its original generic polythene lined company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has red & silver "London/ Atlantc" labels. These are deep grooved also. The 1st press matrix numbers are as follows:
Side 1: AML-2076-1B
Side 2: AML-2077-1B
This is a genuine UK Mono 1st pressing LP. These are not that common. This is a bit of a worn copy, especially the sleeve. However, Playback is Near Excellent to Excellent+ overall. This is a great audio copy! This LP is a classic early 1960's Hard Bop/ Modal Jazz/ Free Jazz LP. I have some other rare & collectable 1960's, early 1970's UK and USA Jazz LP's for sale. This includes some other John Coltrane LP's. So please see my other listings.
Sleeve: There is mild to more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is mild to more moderate rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges. This is not too noticeable. The previous owner has stuck two very tiny blue stickers, with "Eric Dolphy" written on them, over two names in the musician personnel section (see photo). I'm not sure if their was an error in the credits or not? There are two finger-tip sized stains on the rear sleeve. There are about seven light or mild hairline creases at the spine area. These measure from 1 cm to 1.5 cm in length. There is mild to more moderate fading to the spine. There is some staining at the spine area on the rear sleeve. The spine text is completely legible. There is mild or very mild fading & staining on the rear sleeve on some areas. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on some areas. Overall, Good condition
Vinyl: There are two light or very mild hairline surface marks on Side 1. These measure 2 cm and 3.5 cm in length. There are some light, mild, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. There are a couple of small areas of more moderate sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, which, again, can only be seen under a strong light. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on some areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Very Good condition. The labels are in Near Excellent condition & show mild or very mild spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Near Excellent to Excellent overall & Excellent+ in some places. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in a few quieter places. There are no clicks or pops. Overall, a great audio copy!
