Description
This is Impulse Records AS-85, John Coltrane Quartet Plays, an orange and black, ABC-Paramount label, original stereo issue of this great recording with Van Gelder stamped in the dead wax. The record is in VG++ condition showing a few light sleeve marks. The record plays quietly throughout except for a brief time during the bass solo on Song Of Praise where some light background crackle is audible. The glossy gate-fold cover has a loss on the fold (see photo 5) and some losses of paper on the inside but is otherwise excellent and intact. The labels are excellent with no spindle marks. An original inner sleeve is included. The record was played on a Linn Sondek LP12 and cleaned on a VPI 17. This is an excellent collector's grade copy of this classic record. This is part of my personal collection that I will be selling (slowly) over the next few months and years. I am offering eight Coltrane Impulse titles this week. Please check our other listings as we discount shipping for multiple wins. Thanks for looking.
