Great condition, vinyl copies of four LPs from Seymour, Indiana’s own
John Mellencamp. Here are three of Mellencamp’s biggest, hit filled
multi platinum best sellers ‘American Fool’, Uh-Huh’ and ‘Scarecrow’
and a very rare copy of his first album ‘Chestnut Street Incident’.
This first album 1976 ‘Chestnut Street Incident’ is a British import copy
on the Mainman label, which was David Bowie’s production company,
and it has eleven early songs seldom heard including, ‘American Dream’,
‘Chestnut Street’, ‘Good Girls’ and a terrific cover of the Lovin’ Spoonful
hit ‘Do You Believe In Magic’.
1982 ‘American Fool’ was the smash hit LP that really put him on the
map. With nine tracks and every one a winner, including ‘Hand To Hold On To’.
‘Thundering Hearts’ and the two icon Mellencamp hits ‘Hurts So Good’ and
‘Jack And Diane’.
The third album was the 1983 ‘Uh-Huh’ LP, with nine songs that include more
Mellencamp classics like ‘Pink Houses’, ‘Crumblin’ Down’ and ‘Play Guitar’.
The fourth album the 1985 ‘Scarecrow’ started a new phase of John’s creative life,
one where he takes on a more social consciousness in his song writing with
songs like ‘Rain On The Scarecrow’, ‘The Face Of The Nation’ as well as hits
like ‘Small Town’ and ‘R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A. (A Salute To 60’s Rock).
These are truly four essential gems for Mellencamp and Rock and Roll lovers alike.
