Description
Welcome to my little collection of items for sale. If you haven’t yet noticed them, I am selling several items at the same time. I am not ordinarily an ebay seller, as you can see if you check out my feedback thingy, however, I am here selling several items with a tri-partite common Hafler Trio/Simply Superior theme. The first part of the commonality is that all of the items are from Mr Andrew McKenzie’s personal collection and archive. That means though, as you will see, that not all of the items are specifically Hafler Trio/Simply Superior items, but they all connect in some ways, as will be delineated in each item description. The second part of the theme which is a common one is that a good number of these items will rarely, if ever, be seen again, are at best not often seen items for sale (with one or two minor exceptions perhaps) and this could be your last chance to get so close to them that you could even believe that you owned them. And thricalistically in the connective sense is the undeniable fact that your purchase will help h3o and Simply Superior. All the proceeds from these sales will go directly towards future h3o and Simply Superior endeavours. “Art”, by which I only mean that real communicative creativity which is not reducible by any conceivable ingenuity to the operations of a machine, remains a little financially rewarded activity, albeit one which many are compelled to engage in. Of course there are the superstars and darlings, even the bête noirs, who do okay, but maybe they do not avoid reductions in a machine-direction, don’t even strive to identify how to avoid it. Times change, and records of the past need to be recycled to create manure for the future. Help us to feed the compost of creativity right here and now.
I am listing the items within the “music” category in the main, although some items perhaps should be listed in “art” or “clothing”. I suspect most of you looking who might be prepared to help h3o will search within this category anyway.
So thank you for your attention thus far. Now on to this particular item…
A very rare and very early John Duncan album in its original edition - Organic. Released on All Questions Music in 1979, comprises two live recordings from August 1979.
The cover on this has some storage damp marks at the bottom of both front and back (of the cover card only, it has not affected the glued on parts), but the vinyl is absolutely tip top - doesn't even look played. This copy retains its original postcard, too, which is also in amazingly good condition.
This is Andrew McKenzie's own copy. He and John Duncan sparked up a productive correspondence between each other in the early 1980's, and from letters I have seen, were clearly appreciative of each other's works and working methods.
More pictures by request, and answers to any questions you wish to ask…
Postage costs: Ask me, or accept what ebay says by default on here. Ebay selections are a bit limited. If you want more than one of the things I am listing in the next day or so, again talk to me and we can work out cheaper multiple item posting for you.
