Description

For sale is a vinyl record by John Klemmer titled "Touch", originally released in 1975 by ABC Records, then reissued by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs in 1978 on im-ported JVS High-Definition vinyl. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is machine stamped "Pressed In Japan", followed by "SR/2" and "114 (+) /152 (+), with a series of dots in the quandrants of the "+", indicating that this album was half speed re-mastered by Stan Ricker at Record Technology Inc., located in Camarillo, California, before the first stampers were used to press this record in Japan. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. The inner sleeve is covered in a heavy cardboard protector and is Near Mint. Included in this cardboard is a yellow insert form to let Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs know if there are any "defects" (skips, surface noise, pops, distortions or warps). The cover is graded as Very Good  because of minor corner blunts, faint ring wear, stress cracks along the spine and a one inch tear along the top seam. The spinehas significant color los at the corners from these blunts and along the edges fro stress cracks. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, with shiny and bright surfaces, in a like-new condition, without any sleeve marks, surface scratches or spindle marks on the labels.  I'm play grading this record between Excellent and Near Mint Minus, because of occasional super low levels of surface noise, most evident during the quietest sections of playback and between tracks. This record has excellent dynamics and a wide sound stage, full of pin-point imaging from all the instruments. It plays all the way through without any pops or skips from start to finish. This is the best copy of this record that I've ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, especially a MFSL re-issue. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have a lot more Smooth Jazz records, as well as albums of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing.    I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for viewing my listing.
