Description
This 45rpm “Its our Time” and flip side "Dreams of a Child" is the original 45rpm recording and has never been played on a turntable. It has been stored in a box for 55 years. John Laughter has been a Sax player since 1956. While he served in the USAF from 1963 to 1967, he managed to get together with other Air Force musicians and played in combo’s wherever he was stationed in Texas, Italy and Calif.
In his last year serving in the forces, John penned the melody on Saxophone of what was to become “It's Our Time”, a lively upbeat dance instrumental with a kickin' bass.
When John left the Air Force in 1967, he returned home (Jacksonville Beach) and went to college where he also picked up with local bands and started playing "It's Our Time" in nightclubs. At this time, he started to write “Dreams of a Child”. It was a slow composition that John wanted to feature a Flute and Saxes on it.
Talking to the 1969 band, they agreed to practice the songs so they could start playing both songs in the sets they played in the Jacksonville, Florida nightclubs. One member, William “Bill” Tripp (organ/guitar/vocals/trumpet) started writing the lyrics for “Its our Time”.

Dave Plummer, owner of Cypress recording studio at Jacksonville Beach heard the band play the tracks in 1969 at a club and suggested that the band should record the songs in Dave’s studio and press the tracks to 1000 vinyl 45 rpm's and then start promoting the band and the 45rpm. After the recording the band members eventually went their separate ways to school or moved for other day jobs so the record was not promoted. Each member was given a box of the 45rpms. 50 years later two of the original 45s found their way to London and would be reissued by MD Records in England to find a new life after this 45 original was played by two DJ's in two London dance clubs.
