Description

Rare US 1st release import mono soundtrack to the Cold War film 'The Spy Who Came In From The Cold' (1965, dir. Martin Ritt).

Based on the novel by John Le Carré, the movie starred Richard Burton, Oskar Werner and Claire Bloom.

The Moods…. The Characters…. The Suspense-filled Episodes….
Magnificently Captured in the Musical Score

“We have to live without sympathy, don’t we. That’s impossible, of course. We act it to one another, all this hardness, but we aren’t like that really. I mean… One can’t be out in the cold all the time; one has to come in from the cold…”

Sol Kaplan ?– The Spy Who Came In From The Cold (Music From The Score Of The Motion Picture) (1965)
Condition (refer also to notes at bottom): Vinyl: VG. Looks very clean on visual inspection. One long hairline surface scuff on side 1 and a few curved surface scuffs and one short nick on side 2. No other major marks beyond some mottling. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is decent throughout. Some mild surface noise during quieter sequences but jazz cues sound superb. Plays with no skipping, jumping or sticking. A wonderful listening experience.
Outer sleeve (Cover): EX. Colours are bright and unfaded. Superb thick card sleeve. Shrinkwrap covers entire front and back. Slight crimping towards aperture. Aperture exposed but shows no major wear. Aperture corners show light scuffing and denting. Fantastic condition overall.
Inner Sleeve: G. Original. RCA Victor picture sleeve paper with squared corners. Album thumbnails and text both sides. Yellowed and with some tears on aperture edge but intact. One side split 5 cm in from aperture. A few minor creases/folds though normal handling.

ITEM CONDITION - items are graded according to Record Collector definitions - see below:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD:
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR:
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR:
The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD:
The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
