Description

John Lee Hooker / Sticks McGhee - Highway of Blues LP USA 1st Issue Mono Audio Lab LP from 1959.
Very decent copy of this early collection of John Lee Hooker classics originally recorded under the name of Texas Slim and other such guises. The material although originally 78's does have background noise due to the limitations of converting 78's to LP format, however these recordings are without doubt some of the finest recordings Hooker ever made. Side 2 is made up of recordings by Sticks McGhee, this was typical of King records to put two artists on one album.
The vinyl is difficult to grade, visually it is Excellent and is very clean, the sound quality is VG due to the limitations of the recording process and nothing to do with the vinyl pressing. This is however an essential Hooker collection if you are a collector and fan.
The classic USA design cover is graded VG+ and is a very tidy example. a few creases and a 2 inch split bottom opening edge, some signs of ageing but all told a very good example.
Plain inner sleeve.
This is a classic early blues album from 1959 and very rare to find in any condition, it is the original thick deep grooved pressing and available here is very decent condition.
... Listing a handful of other blues LP's if you want to have a look.
