John Lennon Apple Records David Peel & Lower East Side The Pope Smokes Dope MINT (Shrink Wrap Cover and Record Never Played)
David Peel & Lower East Side The Pope Smokes Dope (Rare 1972 US 12-track LP, produced by John & Yoko. The album is shrink wrapped but carefully opened on the edge. including original red and white, picture/lyric inner sleeve. The sleeve shows no wear whatsoever and is in MINT condition. The record was never played and was stored in a climate controlled room. The same goes for the inner sleeve and the album is also in MINT condition. Issued in the USA under the number SW3391 on the standard Apple Records label. This record was banned in many countries. Apple Records put little to no effort at all in promoting this record and it sold very poorly. Because of the records controversial title, many record stores refused to carry it and very few stocked it.
Today, this is one of the rarest Apple Records ever pressed and original releases like this are very difficult to find.
