John Lennon Imagine 1971 1st Press VG+/VG+.
For auction is a great listeners copy of Imagine by John Lennon. His second solo album after the Beatles breakup, released in September 1971. Imagine was a critical and commercial success globally. The album topped the charts in six countries including the US and UK. The title track has become Lennon’s signature song and is considered one of the most important and popular songs in history. It peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Both the album and song are classics and often appear on “best of” lists. In 2020 Rolling Stone placed the album at #223 on its list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” and previously ranked the song at #3 on the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” list. This copy is a 1st Winchester Press.
Vinyl is play graded VG+. No visible surface marks and plays with faint background noise if any. No skips or jumps. Please see pics.
Cover is also in VG+ condition. It has a glossy finish and still has a nice shine. Mild shelf wear on corners. All seams are nice and the title is perfectly legible. On the back the two left corners, the lamination is peeling a little. A few scratches on both sides. Original die-cut inner with lyrics is included and is useable. However, to protect sleeve and vinyl, the record is housed in a clear poly inner. Please see pics.
