Description
A 1971 1st pressing on the UK Apple label. Matrix 1U/1U. Etching 'Porky/Pecko'. The heavy set vinyl [much thicker than later reissues] comes housed in an original cover with pinched spine. Also included is the original spiral track listing detail inner, Lennon+pig photo, Heavy-grade paper poster - 'Lennon at the piano'.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb shape and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we can make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is minimal and we really only detected some light static in 'Oh My Love' & 'How'. Other than that there's very little interference at all - silent background. The audio quality is absolutely top-level as you would expect from a Peckham cut. Beautiful full frequency response with bags of detail. I can't remember hearing a rendition quite as good as this one.
Cover (Ex) Beautifully preserved and has clearly been carefully looked after. Lovely shiny front cover which is mostly free from fading or creasing. Ditto on the rear only the very lightest handling wear. The pinched spine is in perfect condition with all text visible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Very little ageing at all. No splits or markings.
Photo (Ex+) No issues front or rear.
Poster (Ex+) No rips or tears. It has certainly never seen a wall!
