For sale here is a rare UK 1969 1st press edition of
John Lennon & Yoko Ono – Wedding Album (Apple SAPCOR 11)
I have bought this box set in the late nineteen-seventies from a collector. So, the seller of this auction is probably only the third person to own this great set.
Matrix numbers are: SAPCOR 11 A - 1 and SAPCOR 11 B - 1
The box set is fully complete with all the original inserts. A detailed description of the conditions follows as well as detailed photographs below.
Conditions (referring to the UK Record Collector Grading System)
No writing etc. to be found anywhere!
LP & Labels: The LP looks Ex+ and plays Mint-. Just a few light hair scratches. The labels are in truly great condition. No damage at all except for a few very light spindle
marks. Original inner sleeve ("Made In England") in Ex+ condition.
LP cover: The laminate foil is lifting on some small places which is nearly impossible to get in a better condition for a record of this age. Otherwise it's in a very solid Ex
state. Please see some detailed pictures below.
The "Bagism" plastic bag: front side is Ex+. The back side plastic is crimped (see photograph) therefore gets an honest VG.
Wedding Cake insert: front side Mint-. Back side has some very light bright spots only to be seen under bright light. A VG+ for the back side.
"The Press" Booklet: inside it's Mint-, the outer cover is Ex (some very slight wear on the back side)
"The Wedding" fold out: Ex-/VG+
Fold out with John's drawings: a few slight spots but only one small one (1 cm) can be "seen". A few others can be seen only under strong lighting: all in all VG
Post Card and photo strip: both in Ex+/Mint- condition.
All paper materials are unsplit where they are folded.
The outer box shows some signs of it's age – has some small spots all around. The left spine has visibly got darker and looks light "brownish". The back of the box has
been a little pushed inside but nothing really bad. No tears, still very stable as a whole.
I tried to make a very honest description of the box set to avoid any frustrations. All in all the set is in a great condition for it's age and, considering it's rarity, it should be
very hard to find it in a substantially better condition than this one.
