John Lyons and the Blue Diamonds : Light in The Lowlands.  TNT Records BD 5805, 1979, VG++ cover, EX record.  Nice copy of this rare, privately pressed Dylanesque folk album with bluegrass tendencies. A fantastic record!!! Cover has very mild ringwear and a small name written on the back cover in blue pen.

My Acid Archives review:

This is a unique blend of bluegrass and post Dylan singer/songwriter music and it’s great. The sparse instrumentation (banjo and guitar on some songs, two guitars and an occasional hint of bass on others) effectively frames a batch of intelligent, well-written story-songs. A few of the songs are long in the best Dylan tradition, without repetition, and with stories that sustain the songs’ length. It’s all deceptively simple and pure. The songs are about mountains, freight yards and coal mines, about Mississippi and West Virginia, but there’s nothing backwoods about this music at all. The lyrics about hobos and drifters feel less contrived than the similar tales on the Modlin & Scott album, and Lyons’ voice is world-weary and evocative. As you may guess, not your usual private press folk album, this is really something special.

Shipping prices are as follows: $3.75 for 1 or 2 LPs media mail in US, 50 cents each additional. Priority varies by your location. When you place the order, I will calculate. The prices for 1 or 2 LPs range from $5.80 (i.e. most of the midwest) to $9.25 (i.e. California), for 3 or 4 from $6.25 to $12.50, $1.00 to $2.00 for each additional. $14.50 for one LP overseas First Class Mail International (or Priority Mail International for large packages), $3.75 each additional, $7.75 for one LP to Canada, $2 each additional.

SS Still Sealed

Never opened.

M- Mint Minus

Has been opened, but is still essentially flawless with no damage whatsoever.

EX Excellent

A clean record. Plays like new but may not look as perfect as a M- record. Cover may have very superficial wear. My EX (particularly on the vinyl) is like most sellers' M-.

VG++ Very Good Plus Plus

A record that plays mostly clean with perhaps a few spots of light noise. Cover may have minor wear (bit of ringwear, a name written on cover or label, minor fraying at edges, etc.) Records at this level are generally good enough copies for collectors who are not mint freaks.

VG+ Very Good Plus

Vinyl: A record that plays with a minor amount of noise. Cover shows signs of normal wear: may be taped, have a seam split, ringwear, etc... Not bad, but not ideal either.

VG Very Good

Vinyl: May crackle, pop or make other annoying noises, but is not louder than the music. Will not skip.

Cover: Has cover wear such as ring wear and split seams, writing, maybe some minor tears. Similar wear to VG+ but more of it.
