Description
John Martyn Solid Air lp Island 1973 rare 1st press, exc condition
Island – ILPS 9226 – Matrixes A-1U / B1U
Sleeve: Exc – Some hairline creases along spine edge, top right corner of front, ring marking (most noticeable on back), some corner wear – otherwise good, sturdy, undamaged sleeve. Island inner, but from later date.
Vinyl: Exc – Some v light surface scratches and a few small fingermarks, but no deep scratches. Plays well, although there is a fair amount of surface noise that sounds continuously at the start of each side, it settles thereafter into an unobtrusive and occasional amount. Good clear, strong sound.
Not perhaps the best copy you’ll find of this, possibly JM’s finest album, but a good one, well loved and looked after, that plays very well after that opening bout of surface noise.
