Description

An original 1st mono press of WIRES on UK Decca. Matrix 1A/1A - very 1st cut. Stamper are 1A/1U - inferring this copy is super early week 1 copy. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono gatefold cover. There's also the original Decca inner dated to the month of release. Looks like it had an arty owner - some cool doodles on the inner. 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In lovely condition an has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly Excellent level of playback with a couple deviations. A really decent player and plays clean predominantly. This title is so hard to find playing clean throughout. Not perfect...but better than average. A couple of ticks in a couple of spots toward end of the title track - nothing unpleasant at all. Great signal purity - which is ideal for this sort of audio. A few crackles in the quietest moments of Fire and I Know You. Nothing unpalatable - just not a clean as elsewhere on the LP.. Love it.
Cover (Vg+) A smart looking cover - many are going to be looking a bit beleaguered after 55 years use. But this one is exhibiting good colour retention with a nice solid opening panel. Clean and flat with a rear only showing some ageing at the opening. The spine is 9% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Doodled...but if you ask me...COOL doodles!
