Description

John Mayall Plays John Mayall - Live at Kooks Kleek Decca First Press 1965 Mono LK 4680

Original first press copy with stiff laminated sleeve, in absolutely beautiful condition. It looks like it has just come out of the store delivery box! The vinyl is in EX+ condition too. Copies like this do not come up very often, if ever these days! This record was sold to me as part of a collection, and a lot of the records in that collection were played a few times then stored. In stunning shape and came from a very good source.

Grading;

The record:  General: The vinyl is in EX+ Condition. It looks as if it hasn't been played! Absolutely stunning condition for a record of this age. "I've seen some good vinyl in my time, ect, ect.." Play tested and sounds as it would have done when it was bought.

The labels: Graded EX  Decca Red labels. No marks no writing, some very minor centre hole spindling.

Matrix numbers: ARL-6712-1A/ ARL-6712-2A

The Sleeve: Graded as EX+ to NM. Absolutely beautiful, like new condition, no splits, and no biro defacing. All straight and sharp. Fantastic Copy and great example of a 50 year old LP.

The inner: original company inner is EX. Slightly browned with age, but no splits.

Please study the description and all the photos carefully before bidding.

Postage; UK mainland is £4.50 RM signed for. Important: No bidders from outside the UK, AS I DO NOT offer international post.

Returns policy: As you can see a lot of trouble has been taken to ensure a full and correct description,  as I believe it is very important on items like this. If by some chance you do disagree with my grading, and are not happy, you are welcome to return it for a refund. Please contact me first. Opening disputes before contacting a seller to sort things out is not necessary. Buyer pays postage and should send back using a signed for service to be 100% safe.

About me: I have been collecting and working with records for over 30 years and spent almost all of the 80’s working in a vinyl record shop, and now run an independent vinyl shop of my own, and I only list top quality rare titles on ebay. I will often be conservative and under grade, which means nothing that is secondhand is ever graded Mint, even if it looks unplayed.

If a record is graded with "some pop and crackle" then this means only that, and it will be stated if this constant or very sporadic. It should be noted that even BRAND NEW pressings will also often contain such issues. Even Pink Floyd's new 2014 LP suffers this problem in places. The point I am making is that you must expect some minor pop and crackle on vinyl, and this is taken into consideration in my grading details.

All records are carefully play tested before listing on a Technics SL1600 turntable. I have 100% feedback on ebay and most of my records will be listed as VG or EX even if they are in better condition. I don't list anything lower unless it is very rare, i.e Hendrix first presses ect, which are almost impossible to find in true EX gradings.

Records are graded according to the official Record Collector grading guide below.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
