John Sangster ORIG OZ 2LP Lord Of The Rings NM ’75 EMI EMC2525 Aussie Jazz

Original OZ 2LP released in 1975 on EMI Records. Cat: EMC2525. This album has a gatefold sleeve.
Over the next few weeks I will be listing some wonderful Jazz titles from a recently acquired Jazz collection. The original owner passed away back in 1985 and his sister decided to hold onto them for sentimental reasons. She had not touched or played them since then (1985!!). The records are in stunning condition for their age many, apart from a few light age spots on the covers, look like they walked off the shelf yesterday. I hope you enjoy viewing and possibly purchasing these wonderful jazz vinyl artifacts as much as i have in preparing them for sale and listening to them!!

The first part of the most ambitious musical interpretation of Tolkien's epic story ever attempted.. ? John Sangster calls this a crazed montage of all the jazz idioms he has been involved with - and it is a fabulous mix of styles, to suit characters and situations, plenty to please every taste - but still a coherent piece overall. Features all the usual Aussie Jazz suspects including Errol Buddle, Graeme Lyll, Len Barnard, Ian Bloxsom, Col Evans, Bob McIvor, George Thompson and more...

Tracks: Off to adventures/ Legalos: Elf/ Gandalf the white/ Elvish dance/ Nazgul/ Sam the man/ The ride of Rohirrum, Glad’riel/ Elvish tea-party, with dance/ Orcs/ Blues for Boromir/ Uncle Gandalf needs you!!/ Ents and entwives/ The great battles/ Vale Theoden/ Three cheers for Smeagol/ Bilbo’s birthday-party/ The grey havens.

There are a few tiny spindle marks on labels. Records are in Near Mint condition. Gatefold cover has light ring wear, a few light age spots inside gatefold and a few tiny surface tears around edges and is in VG+ condition.

Payment is accepted by Paypal. Within Australia we also accept Direct deposit transfer and Australia Post Money Orders.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.

Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.

Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.

We offer combined postage for multiple purchases.
