JOHN WALDEN'S BLUES COMBINE
John 'Whiteboy' Walden began playing harmonica from the age of 8. He quit school to turn professional in 1965 and became one of the most highly-respected harmonica players in Europe. He was a master of both the 10-hole diatonic chromatic harmonicas, especially when it came to blues.
John toured all over the world with blues greats such as: Rory Gallagher, Lightning Hopkins, The Madison Blues Band, Madeline Bell, Eva Jones and many others.
As early as 1968-69, he was playing in Paris with his group the John Walden Workshop. It was during this period that he made a number of professionally produced recordings at ‘Sound Organization Recording Studios’ in London with his band.
Whereas contemporary British R&B bands such as The Yardbirds, Downliners Sect & The Pretty Things all enjoyed reasonably successful recording careers, none of John Walden’s bands were ever signed to a label.
Sadly John passed away last year but these recordings are a testament to his talent and love of the Blues and represent the true heart and spirit of 1960’s British R&B.
This 2-sided 45rpm 7” EMIDISC acetate dates from 1969 and contains 2 unreleased tracks: 'Going To Chicago' & 'Who Can I Turn To'.

CONDITION
Disc: VERY GOOD +
The disc is clean & lies flat with no mold or any cracked, chipped or missing lacquer on either side, just a couple of light fingernail scuffs.
The audio quality overall is good quality and free from any significant or major faults.
- This acetate will be shipped inside a custom box-type mailer to make sure it reaches you in the same condition it leaves us.
