Description
Up for sale is a great copy of "Alabama Slide Guitar" by Johnie Lewis, with Charlie Musselwhite. This LP contains twelve songs, including "Hobo Blues". The release is on Arhoolie Records. (1055). Lewis grew up on a farm near Eulala in Alabama and Georgia on. He spent his adult life mostly in Chicago, where he had moved in the 1930s and appeared in small clubs. His musical influences were Tampa Red , Barbecue Bob and Blind Lemon Jefferson . Due to his job as a painter he met with the filmmaker Harley Cokliss , of a documentary about the Chicago Blues turned. His appearance in the film, in which he introduces songs like Hobo Blues and When I'm Gone, led to recording sessions for Arhoolie in the early 1970s and the LP Alabama Slide Guitar. The resulting in Chicago album contained a number of country blues - and spirituals as the Martin Luther King dedicated songs You Gonna Miss Me, I Got to Climb a high mountain, further My Little Gal (with Charlie Musselwhite ).
Cover is Excellent, glossy and clean. The vinyl is VG+, glossy with some minor scuffs.
