Description

Blue Moon 45-P.P.-404-58.  Jugue (2:28) / Downbeats (2:06).  Many times re-issued and comped, this is a 1958 original.  Vinyl looks like an UGLY G, but it takes more than 50,000 spins and a zillion scratches to hamper Johnny's vocal chops.  He comes through loud and clear, so I call it a VG.  The flip side is just a riff that serves to introduce the band members of the Downbeats.  It's a lot quieter and the noise gets the upper hand here.  VG- or G+.  Bad label tear as you can see in the scans.  A few faint markings in the run out grooves, but I can't make out a readable matrix.  See scans for more. Another Downbeats 45, minus Johnny, is available in my other listings!
