Description
Released in May 1956 on Decca Records, Tryin' To Get To You by Johnny Carroll and his Hot Rocks is a frantic masterpiece of first-generation rockabilly. While often associated with Elvis Presley, Carroll's high-octane version showcases the raw, uninhibited energy that made him a legendary figure among rockabilly enthusiasts worldwide. Backed with Rock 'n' Roll Ruby, this single (catalog number 9-29940) features the driving guitar work and wild vocal delivery that defined the 1950s rock and roll sound. Despite never achieving mainstream superstardom in the US, Carroll's Decca recordings are now revered as foundational examples of the genre's explosive birth. This copy is in VG- condition with moderate surface markings, yet it maintains good playback for an authentic vintage listening experience. It is presented in its original Decca company sleeve, making it a significant addition to any collection of high-energy fifties rockabilly.
