Description
Mid-60s STEREO American pressing on the Riverside label of the Johnny Griffin Quartet’s ‘The Kerry Dancers and Other Swinging Folk’ L.P. (RSLP 9420). The band here features Ron Carter, Barry Harris and Ben Riley. I’m not even going there with whether or not this is a first pressing as this isn’t easy to do with American lps however, I’m confident that this pressing dates no later than the mid-60s. The labels list the pressing as being ‘microgroove’ and are black. The vinyl is a lovely heavy pressing without any discernable pressing flaws and the grooves are wide at the rim. The sleeve is of the heavy cardboard type. This is a truly beautiful copy. The sleeve is in EXCELLENT+ condition. There has been no loss of print to the front or rear (i.e. from rubbing) and the rear is still white (a small amount of discolouration around the edges but nothing of any importance). The vinyl is also graded as being in EXCELLENT+ condition. This copy has been played (not for many years) but has been so well looked after it could be new (more condition details below).

The sleeve is conservatively graded as being in EXCELLENT+ condition. This is almost as good as NEW, however two of the corners have received the lightest of knocks. The images and colours of the sleeve are as clear as the day this was printed! (NOTE: The white mark on the top left-hand side of the sleeve is from the camera!).
Vinyl
Minimal spindle-wear indicates that this has been played. There are one or two light hairline scratches (nothing more). Again, this is conservatively graded as being in EXCELLENT+ condition.
Concluding Remarks
A beautiful copy! The only chance of finding a better one will be if you can find one sealed! Please check my other auctions for further vintage modern jazz Lps in stunning condition!
