Relive ‘80s Rock Glory with Journey’s Escape – Original 1981 First Pressing Gem!

Step into the arena rock era with this authentic first pressing of Journey’s Escape, the 1981 blockbuster that launched “Don’t Stop Believin’” into immortality. Packed with hits like “Open Arms,” “Who’s Crying Now,” and “Stone in Love,” this LP showcases Steve Perry’s epic vocals and Neal Schon’s shredding guitar in all their analog warmth. Ideal for vinyl collectors, audiophiles, or fans chasing that nostalgic high – crank it up and escape the ordinary.

Key Features

• Iconic Tracklist: Side One: “Don’t Stop Believin’” (4:11), “Stone in Love” (4:25), “Who’s Crying Now” (5:01), “Keep On Runnin’” (3:39), “Still They Ride” (3:49). Side Two: “Escape” (5:16), “Lay It Down” (4:13), “Dead or Alive” (3:20), “Mother, Father” (5:28), “Open Arms” (3:21).

• First Pressing Specs: Original U.S. Columbia TC 37408 (pre-QC catalog change), Terre Haute plant pressing (T1 runout), mastered at Masterdisk by Howie Weinberg (HW signature) for top-tier sound – punchy dynamics and clarity that outshine later reissues.

• Artwork & Extras: Stanley Mouse’s legendary scarab beetle spaceship cover. Comes with original white inner sleeve featuring band silhouettes, lyrics, and credits.

Condition Details Solid VG+ (Very Good Plus) grading for excellent playback at an accessible price. Vinyl has minor surface scuffs from light use but spins smoothly with no skips or distortion – fully play-tested. Jacket shows slight shelf wear and a minor corner bump; overall sharp and frame-worthy. Inner sleeve intact without rips. Partial shrink wrap remains, plus a charming vintage “Our Price £4.99” UK import sticker for added provenance. Transparent note: Faint label marks from spindle, but no effect on audio or visuals. Not flawless mint, but a clean, cherished survivor from Journey’s peak.
