Collector Notes
Escape is the album that turned Journey from a successful AOR act into one of the best-selling rock bands in history — debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 and spawning three Top 10 singles simultaneously. "Don't Stop Believin'" went on to become one of the best-selling digital singles of all time, a phenomenon that occurred three decades after the album's release and is almost without precedent in pop music history. Jonathan Cain's first full album with the band — his writing partnership with Steve Perry and Neal Schon defined the sound of this record.
This copy is the Capitol Records Terre Haute, Indiana pressing, with mastering at Masterdisk, New York by Bob Ludwig (credited on the inner sleeve) and the lacquer cut by Howie Weinberg (HW etched in the deadwax). The embossed cover — with the planetary/spacecraft design raised to the touch — is the presentation associated with original US pressings. Original printed inner sleeve with full lyrics in EX condition.
