Description
Closer a 1st pressing from summer 1980 on Factory Records. Solid black vinyl. FACT 25. Matrix A1/B1. Etching 'Old Blue?'. Also take note of the much smaller than usual deadwax run-offs which is indicative of 1st issue. In addition there appears to be braille on one of the labels to the right of the spindle hole - two dots that signify the number '9' in the braille sequence. The record comes housed in its original gatefold cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse. No bar code. Also included is the original inner sleeve with square corners stating 'Printed by Garrod & Lofthouse limited' - which is indicative of the first issue.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wowzers someone's looked after this copy. It's shiny like new with barely a mark on it. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. I can't imagine that there are many other copies out there that are going to deliver the audio re-production that is on offer here - it really is astonishing. Perfect clarity and perfect audio reproduction from the bottom frequencies right to the top. Absolutely superb. I could barely make out a crackle the hole way through...stunning.
Cover (Vg+) Some light ageing and wear - a smudge/stain to the top-left on the rear. There's a touch of wear on the spine, but in all other respects this a very well preserved cover. Overall it still retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Some staining to the top left, but no splits. The LP will come housed in an Exstatic inner sleeve.
