This vinyl is in excellent condition, has great sound/fidelity, and to my knowledge has no scratches/pops. This LP was made in Japan, and of course the vinyl provides the highest acoustic quality. I have always taken meticulous care of my albums, handling them with utmost care, cleaning them with the finest, gentlest brushes and anti-static products. My albums were always stored in specially-gentle, anti-abrasive, anti-static sleeves. Nonetheless, understand that vinyl is very delicate, and is temperamental to handling and even dust in the air.
Outer/Inner Sleeve Condition
The inner and outer sleeves still have excellent definition. The outer sleeve has a matte finish, still crisp. There is some minor wear -- corner blunting and some small beige spots on the outer sleeve, while the inner sleeve is off-white and not perfectly flat anymore.
Story Behind the Music
Closer is depressing yet extremely compelling and innovative music. Some say the songs evoke the ambiance of a funeral/funerary march. Hey, listen, the album was released two months after the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis.
